About me ___________________

Hello and welcome.

After a long career in IT and my own life learnings, I discovered my passion was for people. This began my career in counselling . I love seeing the change in the people I work with. I am a caring empathetic  counsellor, and  I will provide you with a safe, supportive and confidential environment where we can work together towards your goal.  For me, counselling is a collaborative process .We will discover and move forward positively towards achieving your goals. I believe people, given the right support, and acknowledgment of their own unique strengths, can achieve their best lives. I aim to be your safe place and share in your emotions, successes, life hassles and insights. I have worked successfully alongside people from all walks of life.

I encourage you to email me your phone number and I can call you  to introduce myself and discuss a good time to meet for our first session.

“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet [active] listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.”

Carl Rogers.

Becoming your best self. ____________

Your 'Best Life' is my goal.

As humans we all have experiences that inform our lives and can leave an indelible mark. These experiences shape our lives, some good and some not so good, and some  devastating.
We all have the right to live our best life. I have the skills required to help you develop a deeper understanding of your situation and identify how to  move forward and live life to the fullest.

My approach.______________

Sometimes things can become too heavy to carry alone and having a safe space to talk can be very healing.
Trauma, depression, anxiety, neglect as a child, grief and loss, safety issues, domestic violence and family harm. Lack of empowerment  and social injustice.  I advocate strongly for people and we will develop strategies and strengths to overcome the road blocks that are preventing you living your best life.

I  draw from a number of modalities as we move through the counselling process. Person Centered , Cognitive Behaviour and  Dialectal Behaviour Therapy.
